Pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade education in Lafayette County is provided by two school systems, one serving students in Oxford and one for those in other areas of the county. Both school districts have high graduation rates (92%) and a commitment to excellence. The average ACT score is 20.3. Both are members of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Private School Education

There are two private schools in Oxford that offer unique, focused programs for their students. Both schools are accredited by the Mississippi Private School Association.

Vocational/Technical Schools

Vocational courses are offered to students from both school districts. Students take the core classes from their high school and then travel to the school for the two-year programs offered there.
